Biella 100K ITF Final: Anna Tatishvili vs. Johanna Larsson
Hard hitting Georgian Anna Tatishvili (photo) and clay specialist Swedish Johanna Larsson will meet in the final in Biella. The tournament had the line-up similar to a small WTA event.
Tatishvili beat Nastassja Burnett from Italy 3-6 6-0 6-1. Burnett is steadily progressing influenced by the general great age of Italian tennis, but Tatishvili is in the killer mode at this event. The round before she beat Irina Khromacheva 6-2 6-0. The Russian player already announced on her Twitter she was going on holiday to Turkey with her family.
Larsson had even less problems against Swiss Romina Oprandi. She won 6-1 6-2. It was one of these matches where Oprandi doesn't move at all. Romina was almost out in the second round when she was 0-4 down against Laura Thorpe in the third set. She came back and overall can enjoy the tournament.
For both Larsson and Tatishvili it's one of the best results of the season. The Swede played quarterfinals in Bad Gastein and Strasbourg, while the Georgian made semis in Budapest. It will be the first match between these two ladies.
Top seeded players in Biella were Barbora Zahlavova Strycova who lost in QF to Burnett after winning the first set 6-1, and Pauline Parmentier, who fell after long three set battle to Edina Gallovits Hall.
